Dr. Jonathan M Shivers

Dr. Jonathan M Shivers

Veterinarian & Practice Owner

Dr. Shivers has loved veterinary medicine from the very beginning. Growing up in Miami, he cared for dogs, cats, orphaned squirrels, turtles, and hermit crabs. After getting his veterinary degree from the University of Florida, he began practicing in Jacksonville, FL. A desire to be closer to family and great fishing led him to Ft. Myers and Indian Creek.

Dr. Shivers believes in having a high-quality, low-stress hospital that clients and their pets feel good about visiting. His favorite part of his job is interacting with our clients and pets. Dr. Shivers loves getting a sick pet back on its feet and playing at home again. He enjoys saltwater fishing, traveling, diving, and cooking in his spare time. Dr. Shivers has a Catahoula hound dog named Remy. He is happy to be here, where he can enjoy the laid-back atmosphere, beautiful gulf waters, and friendly residents of Ft. Myers.

Dr. Donna J. Kacheline
Veterinarian

Dr. Donna J. Kacheline (Dr. K) has over 35 years of veterinary medicine experience. Dr. K went to the University of Florida for both her undergraduate years and for her Veterinary curriculum and is often heard saying that there is orange and blue running through her veins (Go Gators!) She completed her Bachelors of Science degree at the UF College of Agriculture in 2003 before continuing on to the UF College of Veterinary Medicine and graduating with her DVM in 2008.

Dr. K has such passion for veterinary medicine and is thrilled to be working with such a caring and skilled group of doctors and staff here at Indian Creek Pet Hospital and Companion Pet Care. If you ask her, she will tell you that most days she does not consider what she does to be “work,” but instead her passion that she gets to share, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

In her personal time, she loves to spend time with her family, friends, and of course, her own fur kids! Dr. K enjoys the beach, reading and theater and music of all sorts. She also likes going to comedy clubs and art festivals. She has a strong faith in God and is an active member of her church.

Dr. Nicole Murphy
Veterinarian

Dr. Nicole Murphy returns to Companion Pet Care, where she previously worked as a veterinary technician before completing her Degree of Veterinary Medicine. She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Florida, then went to St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine and finished her clinical year at Auburn University in 2024.

Dr. Murphy was born in Massachusetts and moved to Florida when she was young. Her compassion for animals and wanting to help those who can not help themselves confirmed her desire to dedicate her life to veterinary medicine. Her special interests include ophthalmology, surgery, and client communication, which is showcased in Dr. Murphy’s compassion for her patients and ability to communicate effectively with their owners, making her a wonderful addition to the Companion Pet Care family!

In her free time, Dr. Murphy enjoys spending quality time with her husband, family, and two dogs, Leo and Olaf. She embraces an outdoor lifestyle with hobbies like: gardening, shark tooth sifting, shelling, fishing, and boating.
