Pre-Surgical Care
Prior to surgery, all dogs and cats are carefully screened through pre-surgical bloodwork and a thorough physical exam. Pre-surgical bloodwork gives us important information about your pet’s kidney, liver and heart function to be sure your pet is healthy to receive anesthesia.
Anesthesia
Safe anesthetics are carefully selected for each pet.
Pain Management
At Companion Pet Care, we believe in maximizing the comfort of your pet before, during and after your pet’s procedure. The pain management we use depends on the type of pet. For many pets, we use a multi-modal approach to pain management, meaning we layer small amounts of different drugs to minimize any pain that your pet might feel during or after the procedure. We administer lower doses of each individual drug so that your pet will experience fewer adverse side effects, more complete pain relief and faster post-operative recovery.
